ATLANTA -- Delta Air Lines is adding more Caribbean flights and destinations this fall as it hunts for new markets to boost lagging revenue.
Along with new service to Russia and other international markets, Delta has been beefing up its Caribbean network in recent months to reduce its concentration in the U.S. market, where fierce competition with discount carriers has made many domestic routes unprofitable.
Other carriers, including discount carriers, also have been moving aggressively into Caribbean markets, particularly from New York.
